FEED YOUR FACE, FACE YOUR FOOD

The crazy health - junkie i am, i always knew the importance of food when it comes to your skin. However, what you put in, is what comes out, right? (Not in any gross sort of way of course…)

Speaking of that, Fish, water, Nuts and Oil are my best Friends, but when i red a post about winter related food changes in your Diet on “thebeautydepartment.com”, i was surprised by the Fact that all of the changes in your skin care routine may eventually be neglected by the Fact that you might not eat the right, winter-friendly Foods.

I thought i’ll share the 3 Tips form Jessica Wu (whom’s Book i genuinely enjoyed and would really, really, reeeeaaally recommend…), which is a well-known Celebrity Dermatologist.

The Tips:

Have a Drink. You might not be as thirsty when it’s cold outside, but in fact, your skin loses up to 25% more moisture in the winter than in the summer! Get your fluids by drinking water, juice, soup, and caffeine-free tea and coffee.

Try hemp. Hemp seed oil is pressed from the seeds of nondrugvarieties of cannabis, which means it doesn’t contain THC, the hallucinogen found in marijuana.  It’s packed, however, with anti-inflammatory omega-3 fats. Studies have shown that dietary hemp seed oil may improve hydration and reduce itching and dryness. Try it on salads (in
place of olive oil) or mixed into hummus and smoothies. Go fish. Oily fish like salmon and trout are rich in a type of fatty acid called DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), which has been shown to help relieve dryness and itching. If you’re a vegetarian, you can substitute algae oil supplements for the fish. These Tips are also front thebeautydepartment.com and you can check the original Post here: http://thebeautydepartment.com/2012/01/skin-food/ I find it personally very scary that my skin looses 25% more moisture in the Winter!! Makes me want to fill my Starbucks Cup with water and Hemp seed oil instead of coffee (Yes, that’s actually my weakness..)!!AARGHH!! Whatsoever i hope that helped ou out, if your skin is as flaky as mine at the moment…(and if not, then read it though, or i will get the Food Ninja’s attacking you! xx
